I think I have found the perfect healthy detox diet for myself. It is only day three of my Get Fresh Challenge, but the detox symptoms seem to be mild compared to previous raw diets or cleansing diets. I am very overweight and was a heavy coffee drinker, so I would expect discomfort as my body is throwing off toxins and eliminating fat. In the past I would have severe migraine type headaches by the end of one and all day on day two, but this time going raw, day three was when I started feeling some mild detox symptoms.
I really like fasting and cleansing my body, but when I have done a juice or water fast in the past, the detox symptoms would be much more severe. Even though I believe those plans to be healthy detox diets, it seemed like too much stress on my body. I didn't always have the luxury to lounge around and wait for the symptoms to pass. I think it is important to relax and work less when fasting on juice or water. By eating raw food, I feel like my schedule can stay the same. The detox just happens at a slower pace.

Today when I woke up, I was groggy and my muscles hurt in my neck and low back. I will get this sometimes after eating too late or working too much, but yesterday I felt so good, so I was surprised to be feeling this way on day three. I also had a headache on the left side of my head and behind my eye. This is something I would typically get after drinking too much caffeine in a day.
I also noticed my skin was really dry. I had one massage appointment and by the end of the day, the headache was gone, and I noticed my nasal passages were more open. The pressure in my head and eye may have been sinus related.
he pain I was feeling this morning subsided too, and I noticed when I stretched how much faster the muscle would release then when I am not eating raw.I have mentioned before that my raw experiences go way back and have noticed how pain starts to leave my body after about a month of eating only raw food. It’s hard to explain, but it feels like a reverse muscle spasm. The muscle will spasm and then release, feeling better than ever. Just another reason why eating a raw food diet is a healthy detox diet.
Today I ate:
12 Medjool Dates
6 Navel Oranges
6 Romaine Lettuce Leaves
1 Celery Stalk

Today I was feeling a bit dazed and I was attracting negative situations. My mood was positive and I was very calm, but the crazy people were all around me. I felt good enough to go running, but I didn’t get it done early enough, and my schedule booked up. The run might have altered the negativity that was looming.
Even though I was feeling foggy, I still think eating fruit in large quantities is what is keeping me from having the cravings I would normally be having at this point on my raw diet. By getting the nutrients into my system and feeling good, I know this is the healthy detox diet my body needs. My past attempts at making raw food my lifestyle have ended in failure because of the detox symptoms. I remember having just a little coffee because I was feeling tired, but what it did was trigger me gradually back to my old ways. So, eating raw food high on fruit is a good way to keep energized and less likely to have cravings for cooked food.
Today I ate:
14 Medjool Dates
4 Kale Leaves
1 ½ cup Spinach

More detox symptoms? This morning I was tired and slept until 9. Before I got out of bed, I heard a loud pop inside by head and then developed a headache in the spot. The feeling in my head changed throughout the day and ended up feeling like sinus pressure. Overall the Fruitarian Lifestyle might be the perfect way for me to eat raw and as a healthy detox diet. My past raw food experiences felt very different. At this point I would be torturing myself by watching food related television shows or salivating over food commercials. I guess this is because I was having cravings, but now on day 5 of eating larger amounts of fruit, as long as I don’t wait to eat, I am not craving any of my old favorites.
Today I ate:
4 cups of Baby Spinach
1.5 liters of Orange Juice
8 small Bananas
Eating raw food is a perfect healthy detox diet. It’s a great way to satisfy the need to eat and also rid the body built up toxic waste that accumulates in the cells. The detox symptoms are milder than that of a detox plan that eliminates eating whole food. The symptoms I feel eating a raw diet as opposed to a water fast or juice fast are easier to manage.
